MANILA, Philippines–Blackwater dealt Terrafirma its 21st consecutive defeat after holding on for a 93-86 victory on Friday in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Import Cameron Krutwig’s three-point play with less than two minutes to break an 83-all deadlock and the Bossing avoided being the team that would allow the Dyip to snap the second longest run for futility in league history.

Krutwig finished with 29 points and 24 rebounds to propel Blackwater to its third win in six matches.

Baser Amer had 21 points, five rebounds and four assists, Troy Rosario scored 15 and rookie Ato Ular hauled down 12 rebounds for the Bossing.

The Bossing continued what coach Ariel Vanguardia described as a “rollercoaster,” this time with a bounced back result after squandering an eight-point lead in the fourth against the NorthPort Batang Pier two nights earlier.

Terrafirma fell to 0-5 with import Lester Prosper held to a conference-low 18 points.

It was another disappointing setback for the Dyip, whose last victory was at the expense of the Bossing in last season’s Governors’ Cup.

Compounding the frustrations of Terrafirma was the absence of ace guard Juami Tiongson after getting hurt last week against Meralco.

The Dyip erased a 14-point deficit in the third to tie things up at 63-all entering the fourth, but the Bossing didn’t falter with Krutwig leading the charge.

The scores:
