MANILA, Philippines-Troy Rosario is set to make his PBA Governors’ Cup debut on Saturday when Blackwater faces Meralco at Ynares Center in Antipolo City after being sidelined by an injured foot dating back to the previous conference.

The Bossing placed Rosario on the active roster ahead of the contest which will see them try to bounce back from a 105-86 loss to the San Miguel Beermen last Wednesday at Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

Center Rey Publico was placed on the injured/reserve list to make room for the 31-year-old Rosario.

Blackwater, currently at 1-2, is pinning its hopes on Rosario to provide the inside presence and versatility he’s been known for throughout his big league career.

Rosario has not played since a 15-point performance in a win over Terrafirma in the Commissioner’s Cup eliminations last Oct. 14.

He played just five games for Blackwater after being acquired from TNT as part of a three-team trade with NLEX before going down with the injury.

Rosario averaged 12.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists in his maiden conference with the Bossing.

Blackwater faces a Meralco side smarting from a shock defeat to Terrafirma that ended a 2-0 start in the season-ending conference.

The match comes amid reports that the Bossing will replace import Shawn Glover with ex-NBA player Troy Williams.
