MANILA, Philippines—Rhenz Abando returned as Anyang KGC clipped Suwon KT Sonicboom, 87-84, in the Korean Basketball League on Monday at KT Sonicboom Arena.
Abando, who had been sidelined since participating in the All-Star festivities, played only less than five minutes and went scoreless.
Despite his limited play, Anyang continued his winning ways, extending its streak to five games.
Omari Spellman picked up the slack with 40 points as Anyang hiked its league-leading record to 28-11.
Dave Ildefonso also had a quiet outing for Suwon with only one point and three rebounds in limited minutes.
Yang Hong-Seok and Jarrod Jones scored 24 and 23 points for Suwon, which dropped to a 17-22 card.
On Sunday, the Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus defeated Wonju DB Promy, 80-71, behind RJ Abarrientos’s hot-shooting.
Abarrientos sizzled with 23 points, sinking seven 3-pointers.
Gauge Prim helped Ulsan’s cause with a double-double of 19 points and 14 rebounds as Mobis Phoebus climbed to 23-15.
Ethan Alvano had 14 points, one rebound and a steal for Wonju (16-22).
Jeonju KCC Egis trounced the Changwon LG Sakers, 87-64, at Jeonju Gymnasium.
Justin Gutang contributed three points, six boards, five dimes and two steals in 16 minutes of play for Changwon (24-14).
Ricardo Ratcliffe powered Jeonju to victory with a monster double-double performance of 32 points and 13 rebounds.
