MANILA, Philippines—San Beda completed a double sweep in the NCAA Season 98 volleyball tournaments at San Andres Complex on Sunday.

The Red Spikers turned back Jose Rizal University, 25-20, 25-22, 25-18, behind Ralph Cabalsa’s big game in the men’s category.

Cabalsa finished with 20 points while Ryan Rosman helped San Beda’s cause with 18 as the Lions improved to a 3-2 record.

No Heavy Bomber scored in double digits in the loss with Matthew Miguel and Kenneth Daytana both finishing with nine points for JRU, which tripped to a 1-4 slate.

The Lady Red Spikers also dominated the Lady Bombers, 25-22, 25-21, 25-16, in only an hour and 18 minutes of play.

In women’s play, Kleiner Abraham and Chynna Castillo powered San Beda to its first win of the season after five tries (1-4) with 15 points each.

Karyla Jasareno tallied 10 markers but JRU absorbed its fifth loss in as many games.

Perpetual Help, meanwhile, improved to 5-0 after defeating San Sebastian in four sets, 24-26, 25-17, 25-21, 25-19.

The duo of Louie Ramirez and Joshua Zareno combined for 47 markers to deal the Golden Stags a 1-4 card.

Kyle Villamor’s 25-point outburst was not enough for San Sebastian to notch its first win.

The Lady Altas, on the other hand, also swept the Lady Stags, 26-24, 25-23, 25-16.

Shaila Omipon scored 13 in the win while Player of the Week Mary Rose Dapol finished with 12 to give Perpetual Help a 4-1 slate.
