Highlands Ladies Cup gets reboot on April 29 with full field

Three years after being shuttered by the Taal volcano eruption and the COVID-19 pandemic, the Highlands Ladies Cup gets going once again with organizers promising bigger prizes for the banner field seeing action at the complex’s Midlands layout.

The 18-hole event, held annually until 2019 to raise funds for the Tagaytay Highlands Ladies Chapter’s favorite charity, will be played April 29 over the well-manicured course that has hosted a number of international and big domestic tournaments in the past.

“We are more than prepared for this year’s tournament after three years,” said Dionne Cu, the tournament chair. “Golfing friends have been waiting for us to stage our festive tourney.”

Registration is ongoing with entry fees pegged at P4,000 for members and P5,000 for non-members, inclusive of green fee, cart sharing, lunch and snacks plus raffle. Tickets are available at the Highlands and Midlands golf courses and THLC.

Backed by diamond sponsor W Group and supported by Platinum sponsor Parola Maritime Agency, Inc. and bronze sponsor Wee Community Developers, Inc., the tournament will have a shotgun start at 8 am and will be played using the System 36 scoring format.

The event used to be held late in the year, but the THLC moved it to an earlier date to coincide with the Tagaytay Ladies team’s 18th founding anniversary celebrations.

As in its past editions, part of the proceeds will go to THLC’s favorite charity in Silang, Cavite, the Boys & Girls Town where school-age children are prepared for the real world through an entrepreneurial-based education.
