KBL: Justin Gutang one-ups Rhenz Abando as Changwon beats Anyang
MANILA, Philippines—Justin Gutang and Changwon LG Sakers frustrated Korean Basketball League top seed Anyang KGC, 76-75, at Anyang Gymnasium on Thursday.
Gutang, making most of his minutes off the bench, finished with nine points, a rebound and two steals to help the Sakers beat fellow import Rhenz Abandon and KGC in the battle of the top two teams.
Article continues after this advertisementAssem Marei was the high-point man for the LG Sakers with a double-double of 21 points and 16 rebounds to power the squad to a 33-16, just half a game behind the league leaders.
Abando, meanwhile, started for Anyang, which dropped to 34-16, and finished with 10 markers, an assist in a block in 30 minutes of play.
Wonju DB Promy, meanwhile, also notched a win over the Samsung Seoul Thunders, 71-58, at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium.

Seoul remained at the bottom of the pack with a lowly 13-36 record.
