MANILA, Philippines—Justin Gutang and  Changwon LG Sakers frustrated Korean Basketball League top seed Anyang KGC, 76-75, at Anyang Gymnasium on Thursday.

Gutang, making most of his minutes off the bench, finished with nine points, a rebound and two steals to help the Sakers beat fellow import Rhenz Abandon and KGC in the battle of the top two teams.

Assem Marei was the high-point man for the LG Sakers with a double-double of 21 points and 16 rebounds to power the squad to a 33-16, just half a game behind the league leaders.

Abando, meanwhile, started for Anyang, which dropped to 34-16, and finished with 10 markers, an assist in a block in 30 minutes of play.

Wonju DB Promy, meanwhile, also notched a win over the Samsung Seoul Thunders, 71-58, at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium.

Ethan Alvano helped Wonju, which now stands with a 19-30 card, with 10 markers built on two buckets from beyond the arc to go along with four dimes, two steals as a starter.

Seoul remained at the bottom of the pack with a lowly 13-36 record.
