PHNOM PENH—Kristian Narca matched the resolve of Cambodia’s Laingkousin Khun but settled for the silver medal just the same in kun khmer on Thursday at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games.

Getting the blessings of all three judges, Khun ruled the men’s 57kg, 30-27, of the host nation’s own sport held at the Elephant Hall of the Morodok Sports Complex here.

Narca hit the deck in the second round and came out far more aggressive in the third by delivering several kicks to Khun’s body.

Khun then retaliated by unleashing an assortment of knee shots to Narca’s rib cage and increased the intensity of his attacks in the final 21 seconds.

Narca’s silver increased the Philippine haul for the day following a bronze medal in men’s cycling criterium courtesy of Ronald Oranza.
