MANILA, Philippines—Sibol Pilipinas is assured of at least a silver medal in the men’s division of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang after squeaking past Myanmar in the semifinals at Nagaworld 2, Cambodia on Saturday night.
The Philippines outlasted Myanmar, 2-1, despite slowing down in kills in the third game, 9-11.
Sibol crawled up from a 1-0 deficit after Myanmar took a commanding 20-13 kill count in Game 1.
The Philippines continued its dominance on Saturday after defeating Timor Leste earlier in the day.
The Filipinos capped off their Group A elimination round after defeating Timor Leste, 1-0, which granted them a semifinals berth. They will be facing off against Malaysia on Sunday for the gold medal.
Their women’s counterpart took home the silver medal a few days ago after succumbing to Indonesia in the final, 3-2.
