Nash Racela downplays Adamson win over UP in preseason
MANILA, Philippines—Adamson stunned UAAP Season 85 finalist University of the Philippines, 62-53, in the Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup Friday at Filoil EcoOil Center in San Juan.
Coach Nash Racela, however, downplayed the Adamson win, putting a premium on progress in preseason play.
Article continues after this advertisement“We’re not really looking at the results. What’s important is our game-to-game improvement and adjustment. That’s already an achievement for us,” said Racela in Filipino as they climbed to 2-3 in Group 2.
Reyland Torres scored 15 points for the Fighting Maroons, who crashed to a 3-1 record.
Letran, meanwhile, outlasted Jose Rizal University, 79-68, in an all-NCAA affair in Group 1.

Shawn Argente spearheaded the Heavy Bombers’ offense with 19 points and five assists as they fell to a 1-2 card.
Far Eastern University zoomed past University of the East, 79-67, behind Cholo Anonuevo’s all-around game.
Anonuevo tallied 11 points, seven rebounds, six assists and two blocks for the Tamaraws (1-2) to make up for the absences of star guards LJay Gonzales and Royce Alforque.
Rey Remogat continued to show promise with 23 points but the Red Warriors slipped to a 2-2 card.
Emilio Aguinaldo College welcomed Arellano in the preseason with a dominant 94-80 win.
The Generals (1-2) turned to Ralph Robin and JP Maguliano for the win as they scored 23 and 12, respectively.
The Chiefs drew 14 points from Yuan Camay.
