NU Bulldogs put jerseys up for auction to help Joshua Retamar’s grandpa

MANILA, Philippines — The National University Bulldogs have donated their jerseys for auction to help Joshua Retamar’s ailing grandfather.

The UAAP Season 85 Finals MVP started the auction of his game-worn jersey when NU swept the recent men’s volleyball tournament to complete a historic ‘three-peat’. The starting bid for his kit starts at Php 5,000,

Retamar is raising funds for the hospitalization of his grandfather, who is currently battling various types of illnesses. 

“I am knocking on your hearts to join the auction we are holding to raise funds for the hospitalization of my lolo. He is currently fighting for his life, and every amount of support would help cover his bills,” said the star setter.

“My teammates generously donated their jerseys for this auction, which also includes my UAAP Season 85 jersey, the exact one I was wearing when we won the championship on May 14,” he added.

Besides the auction, the family of the setter is also accepting donations through Gcash.

The jerseys of Michaelo Buddin, Nico Almendras, Ken Malinis, and Louis Lumanlan are up for auction.

Buddin currently has the highest bid of Php 10,000, as of posting time.

Taiwan MVP and champion Bryan Bagunas also put his Oita Miyoshi Japan V.League jersey up for auction with all proceeds going to Retamar and Kim Dayadante’s sister, who is fighting Stage 3 cancer.

As of posting, the highest bid for Bagunas’ jersey is at Php 50,000.
