Antonio Lascuña will be returning to a personal happy place this week and feels that, with the way that he has been playing of late, he has the chance to extend his dominance at Forest Hills when the P2 million, seventh leg of the ICTSI circuit tees off Tuesday.

“The [Nicklaus course] has always been a tough and the recent renovations on some holes only adds up to the challenge,” Lascuña said on the eve of the pro-am as he samples the well-manicured design for the first time since winning back-to-back title from 2016. “It’s been a long time (since we last played Forest Hills), but I always make it a point to be ready for every tournament.

“I know that I always have a chance (to win),” he said.

Lascuña played under the weather in finishing in the top 10 at Valley. He has a win this season and will be shooting for a sixth title overall since the last of those Forest Hills triumphs.

But the 52-year-old will have to carve it out against the best players in the land as the circuit awaits a first two-leg winner this season.

Reymon Jaraula, who won at Valley, is also a man to watch like Ira Alido, Rupert Zaragosa and Jonel Ababa, the PH Masters champ.

Former PH Open champion Clyde Mondilla, tied for second with LJ Go at Valley, is also playing well together with Guido van der Valk, the reigning the back-to-back The Country Club Invitational winner. INQ
