“The [Nicklaus course] has always been a tough and the recent renovations on some holes only adds up to the challenge,” Lascuña said on the eve of the pro-am as he samples the well-manicured design for the first time since winning back-to-back title from 2016. “It’s been a long time (since we last played Forest Hills), but I always make it a point to be ready for every tournament.

“I know that I always have a chance (to win),” he said.

Lascuña played under the weather in finishing in the top 10 at Valley. He has a win this season and will be shooting for a sixth title overall since the last of those Forest Hills triumphs.
