MANILA, Philippines—As early as now, College of St. Benilde is already facing a challenge not just for NCAA Season 99 but also for Season 100.

However, it’s a good type of challenge.

Of course, adding up on talents imposes the task of bringing all the players into the rotation, but that’s a problem that coach Charles Tiu welcomes.

“It’s a challenge we’ve never encountered before, where there is now an abundance of players vying for the same position. It’s a favorable challenge, better than lacking options. They will need to compete for their spots, as we also have a surplus of players,” coach Charles Tiu said.

Headlining the new breed of the Blazers is the trio out of San Beda composed of Tony Ynot, Justine Sanchez and Gab Cometa.

Former Emilio Aguinaldo College big man Allen Liwag will also sit out next season alongside Nathan Victoria, Jhomel Ancheta, Roger Ondoa, Ian Torres,Matthew Oli, Tahjae Ordonio, Irele Galas and Jeric Canete.

All newcomers will be able to don the Green and White in Season 100.

With the influx of new players coming in, the graduating talents will now have to step up to leave a lasting impression on the new Blazers..

“Our primary focus remains on the upcoming season that is about to commence in a month or so. We still have a substantial amount of work to accomplish, and our consistency remains an issue,” bared Tiu.

Season 99 will signify the final playing years of Miggy Corteza, Robi Nayve, Prince Carlos, Felipe Marasigan, Chris Flores and reigning league MVP Will Gozum.
