The second round of Fiba World Cup actions begins on August 31 with 16 teams across three host cities–Manila, Jakarta, Okinawa–advancing to the next stage of the group phase.
Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City and Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City remain the main venues for the eight qualified teams playing in the Philippines.
Group I: Serbia, Dominica Republic, Italy, Puerto Rico
Group J: USA, Lithuania, Montenegro, Greece
Group K: Slovenia, Germany, Australia, Georgia
Group L: Canada, Spain, Brazil, Latvia
In the second round, the teams will play two games against the teams from the opposite group that they didn’t face in the first round. The results from the teams’ first-round campaign will be carried over to their record.
There will be a one-day break on September 4 as teams from Okinawa and Jakarta head to Manila.
The final phase to be played on Mall of Asia kicks off on September 5 starting with the quarterfinal. The one-off Final is set for September 10.
