Bongbong Marcos lauds Meggie Ochoa for winning gold in Asian Games
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday congratulated Filipino jiu-jitsu practitioner Meggie Ochoa for bringing home the Philippines’ second gold medal in the Asian Games.
The jiu-jitsu champion had beaten Balqees Abdulla of the United Arab Emirates in the Asian Games’ Jiu-jitsu tournament earlier in the day.
Article continues after this advertisement“Congratulations, Meggie! Your comeback in Women’s -48kg Jiu-jitsu at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China not only earned us our 2nd gold medal but also proved that martial arts mastery runs deep in our veins,” Marcos wrote in a Twitter post.
The Philippines has only received two gold medals so far, with the first one being earned by pole vaulter EJ Obiena.
