MANILA, Philippines—Adamson couldn’t help rave about University of the East’s Rey Remogat following their game in the UAAP Season 86 men’s basketball tournament on Sunday.

The Falcons beat the Red Warriors, 72-65, but had to overcome a gutsy performance from Remogat.

“UE is gifted with a very special player in Remogat. That kid is built differently, he really knows how to play the game,” said Adamson coach Nash Racela, whose squad improved to 3-2.

Remogat gave Adamson fits with 27 points, highlighted by five 3-pointers. He also grabbed 11 rebounds with one steal and a block to boot.

The prolific guard did all that despite having a big target on his back.

Remogat’s efforts, however, were still not enough to lift UE, which slipped to 2-3.

“Like what coach said in our practices, Remogat’s special and he has special skills on the offensive side so we really worked on our defense against him, how we should stop him,” said Adamson guard Matt Erolon, who contributed 10 points.

Ced Manzano and Matt Montebon paced the Falcons with 13 points apiece.
