CARMONA Mayor Hon. Dahlia Loyola will be the guest-of-honor as the best Asian karters dispute the titles at stake today in the Philippine leg of the 2012 Asian Karting Open Championship Series at the Carmona Racetrack.

Loyola will keynote the simple opening rite at 12 noon along with other officials of the sanctioning Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) led by AAP Steward Jun Espino, who will official declare the races open in this event supported by the Philippine Sports Commission.

A total of 83 karters from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Macau, Hong Kong and host Philippines will dispute the titles in the Formula 125 Open Senior, Formula 125 Open Junior, Mini-ROK, SQ Cadet Novice and Expert, SQ Novice, Expert and Veteran, and the Yamaha Cup Exert and Novice classes.

Much of the focus will be on the premiere Formula 125 Open Senior where a bigger field of 26 karters engages in a grueling, unpredictable battle for the coveted plum.
