Que mind-ready for TCC InvT’l
With a chance to become the first four-time winner of the P6 million The Country Club (TCC) Invitational, Angelo Que will be approaching the 72-hole championship trying to put everything in order—in his head.
A 16-time winner in a 20-year pro career, Que believes that the mental game will be key when he tees it up Tuesday next week for a chance at the record, as he battles the younger guns on the local tour led by Miguel Tabuena.
“Mental preparation is what I will be working on and try to improve,” said Que, who hasn’t won on local soil since a 12-stroke triumph at the ICTSI Classic of Mount Malarayat in 2017.

Only former champions and the top 30 in last year’s PGT money list earned invites for this season’s kickoff leg of the local circuit. Tabuena and Antonio Lascuña have both won once, and they will be studies of contrast with the heady Lascuña now one of the shortest hitters in the field.
“There are a lot of good, young players out there now, I think that would be the biggest hurdle,” said the 45-year-old Que, a three-time Asian Tour winner who won at the windswept layout in 2007, 2010 and 2011.
