Uratex Dream joins Women’s PBA 3×3 revival
MANILA, Philippines—The revival of the Women’s PBA 3×3 will feature one of the country’s more dominant teams in Uratex Dream.
Uratex will officially be one of the participating teams in the PBA’s upcoming tournament for women’s 3×3 action.
Article continues after this advertisementTeam owner Peach Medina said Dream’s inclusion in the return of the WPBA is a “long time coming” after seeing the uprising of women’s basketball in the Philippines.
“It’s a long time coming and we’re happy to be part of the rise of women’s 3×3 basketball on the local front. We’re just happy to compete and we’ll make sure to give it our all in the WPBA 3×3,” said Medina.
Dream will be competing against Gilas’ A and B teams, Philippine Air Force, Philippine Navy and Angelis Resort.
Article continues after this advertisementAnd Uratex will do it with the talents of Kaye Pingol, Sam Harada, Eunique Chan, Shanda Anies, Cecilia Junsay, April Siat and import Li Renzhu.
Pingol, the no.5 ranked 3×3 player in the country, said that Uratex’s experiences in past tournaments will help her squad in the upcoming tourney.
“The international tournaments are a big help because we faced some top teams and players, meaning the level of competition is high… Because of that, our confidence, skills and intensity increased as a team so we’re excited to perform now,” said Pingol.
