“Every day, every practice, every practice is a learning process for us,” coach Roger Gorayeb said. “It’s a time for us to know each other, what we need to add.”
“This win will boost our morale in our next games because we are going through a tough time.”
Capital1 also earned its first set win after outperforming Strong Group with the Athletics’ 12 errors digging them a deeper hole in the opening frame.

Mary Joy Onofre and Merry Rose Jauculan denied the Power Spikers a sweep after leading the Athletics to a third set fightback that also served as the first set win of their young franchise.
The win allowed Capital1 to find a silver lining after being swept by Chery Tiggo in its debut and Farm Fresh disposing of the Solar Spikers also rather easily in their encounter.
“Rome was not built overnight. We just need a little bit more patience,” Gorayeb said. “With this win, we’ll be able to sleep better tonight and feel good during practice tomorrow.”
Onofre paced Strong Group with 12 points and Dolly Versoza contributed 11 for the Athletics who absorbed their third straight defeat.
“This game was so important for us because this will boost our morale. I feel that in the next game we will have a much better performance,” Singh, Capital1’s team captain, said in Filipino.
That next challenge for Capital1 will be PLDT on Saturday at FilOil EcoOil Arena.
