MANILA, Philippines—Yokohama center Kai Sotto continued his stellar showing in the B.League over the weekend.
Sotto notched a career-high 28 points on Saturday but his night was spoiled after the B-Corsairs lost to Alvark Tokyo, 81-75. The 21-year-old Sotto, who shot 12-of-15 from the field, also grabbed six rebounds in the loss.
On Sunday, Sotto scored 11 points and had three rebounds in another Yokohama loss to Tokyo, 79-66.
Other Filipino imports in Dwight Ramos of Levanga Hokkaido, Matthew Wright of Kyoto Hannaryz and RJ Abarrientos of the Shinshu Brave Warriors also suffered back-to-back losses during the weekend.
Ray Parks and the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins, meanwhile, swept the Toyama Grouses in their two-game series.
Parks tallied 15 points, four rebounds and five assists on Sunday to help Nagoya whip Toyama, 110-70, at Aichi Prefecture.
Nagoya, which improved to 31-17, also trounced Toyama, 102-85, on Saturday.
Thirdy Ravena and the San-En Neophoenix settled for a split after downing the Sendi 89ers, 100-81, on Sunday at Miyagi Prefecture.
Ravena collected 13 points, seven assists and six rebounds as the Neophoenix rebounded from an 82-75 defeat on Saturday at Xebio Arena Sendai.
His older brother Kiefer was also victorious on Sunday with the Shiga Lakes turning back Bambitious Nara, 81-67, in B2 action.
Kiefer Ravena had his fingerprints all over the ball with 12 points, three assists, a rebound and two steals.
