MANILA, Philippines—Marcio Lassiter is keeping his priorities straight.
After helping San Miguel Beer make the PBA Philippine Cup Finals, Lassiter knows he can’t afford to have any distractions when the Beermen go for championship No. 30.
That said, becoming the PBA all-time leader for most 3-pointers made is not something that Lassiter would try to pursue amid San Miguel’s title chase which has become his top priority.

“Honestly, that’s the second [goal] for me,” said Lassiter after the Beermen swept the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters in the semifinals on Friday.
“I really feel like my first priority and the ultimate goal is to win a championship. It takes four wins but it’s not going to be easy to get four. If I’m blessed enough to get my second goal, which is to get the most three points, then that’ll be a blessing on top,” added the 10-time PBA champion.
The 37-year-old Lassiter is currently in third on the 3-point list with 1,224 career triples behind legends Allan Caidic (1,242) and Jimmy Alapag (1,250).

But Lassiter is not focused on achieving an individual accolade. In fact, he had been so locked in on San Miguel’s semis run that he didn’t even pay enough attention to the other Final Four bracket featuring Barangay Ginebra and Meralco which is tied after four games.
“I haven’t even looked at one of their games. That’s what’s crazy. I just heard about Christian (Standhardinger) scoring 40 and that’s it. I’ve been really locked into this Rain or Shine series.”
“I know for a fact that those two teams are very tough teams. There’s a reason they’re both in the semis. Whoever wins it’s going to be a battle but it’s going to be grind-out games for either team that makes it to the finals for us.”
