MANILA, Philippines—Strong Group Athletics continued to pile up its talents for the upcoming 43rd William Jones Cup with the acquisition of Chris McCullough.
McCullough is coming back to the Philippines after making a name for himself in the PBA as a champion import for San Miguel.
It’s been five years since his run with the Beermen so returning and representing an even bigger cause is a “surreal” feeling for the 29-year-old swingman.

“After so many years, it’s truly surreal to be returning to the country. Even though it’s just for a short while, the experience of flying back, training, and being in the Philippines again is going to be amazing,” said McCullough.
“Not only is it exciting, but I’m also grateful for the opportunity. I’m representing the Philippines, and this is essentially like a job interview for me, as other teams will see me perform.”
McCullough hasn’t been slacking around after his tremendous run in the PBA.

While he currently plays for the Formosa Dreamers in the P.League+, the former NBA player also went to Korea, Lithuania, Bahrain and Puerto Rico to parade his talents.
Now, he’s coming back to the Philippines not just to represent any ball club but to represent the Philippine side.
“Chris McCullough has been on our radar for a while. Boss Jacob has been urging me to recruit him for some time, and I’m thrilled that he’ll finally be playing for us. He’s a winner and a force on offense. It was a no-brainer for us to bring him on board,” said coach Charles Tiu.
SGA will begin its bid for the Jones Cup next month, July 13, in Taipei, Taiwan.
