MANILA, Philippines — Lyceum bolstered its roster with three Filipino-American prospects including Desmond Pyne, who will be eligible for NCAA Season 100 later this year.
The Pirates coach Gilbert Malabanan announced their acquisition of Pyne as well as transferees Jovan Abregana and RA Brucal, who will undergo one-year residency.
“On behalf of LPU, sir, we consider ourselves fortunate to have them on our team,” said Malabanan.

“They will be a significant part of our program in the years to come as we strive to create an environment where inspiration thrives and camaraderie flourishes.”
Pyne, a 6-foot-5 forward, played for Desert Oasis High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, ushering in a new era for Lyceum, which lost star Enoch Valdez.
The Pirates finished in fourth place last season after losing to eventual champion San Beda in the Final Four.

Abregana is a 6-foot-3 winger who played one year at De Anza College.
Brucal, a 5-foot-10 combo guard from Dale Singson’s AAU program Clifton Tigers, spent one year at Seton Hall University.
Meanwhile, the Junior Pirates program, which placed ninth with a 2-7 record in the last season, will now be aligned with the seniors’ program with Al Vergara taking the reins of the junior team after replacing JC Docto.
