Olivarez Philta Open under way
The country’s top junior netters mix it up today to usher in the Olivarez Philta Open tennis championships at the Olivarez Sports Complex in Sucat.
Promising players open their bid against separate opponents in the two-week competitions presented by Palawan Pawnshop Express Padala.
The event will also feature the country’s top netters later in the week including Jeson Patrombon, who is the highest ranked Filipino player in the world in singles at 950th.

The centerpiece men’s and women’s divisions will start Aug. 14 with the qualifiers set Aug. 13 to 16 to accommodate more entries.
Francis Casey Alcantara, Marc Reyes and Pablo Olivarez are expected to join Patrombon and defending champion Johnny Arcilla in the men’s side.
