NU stuns La Salle in UAAP women’s hoops; Adamson, Ateneo cruise to respective wins

MANILA, Philippines—Adamson Lady Falcons did not pull their punches against University of the East Lady Warriors for a 92-39 triumph in the 75th UAAP women’s basketball tilt Friday at the Arena in San Juan.

The Lady Falcons pounced on an errant Lady Warriors, extracting a whopping 32 turnover points on 39 miscues.

Four Adamson lady cagers chipped in double digit markers in the domination win with Princess Cochico leading the attack with 14 points, four rebounds and six assists.

Eden Alla’s crucial freethrows in the finals seconds, meanwhile, carried the National University Lady Bulldogs in the 46-45 stunning of the La Salle Lady Archers.

Gemma Miranda poured all but two of his 11 points in the payoff period while Carmina Laquindanum topscored with 12 for NU, who got a crucial boost to tie with La Salle at 3-2 in the standings.

Meanwhile, Ateneo Lady Eagles avenged its juniors squad’s loss earlier with a 70-53 over University of Santo Tomas Tigresses.

Sara Bo-ot had 14 points, while Danica Jose put in a double-double work with 13 points and 15 rebounds for the Lady Eagles, who improved to 3-2.
