MANILA, Philippines – Running enthusiasts will be pushed to the limit with the Immuvit Fearless Challenge Trail Run 2012.

A first of its kind, the trail run was built to challenge one’s physical capabilities and at the same tie aims to help its participants to have a healthy lifestyle.

“This is something new,” said Jim Saret, athletic training specialist, during a press conference held at Paul Calvin’s Deli in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. “It’s not a race. The course is designed to help people get fit. It’s a mix of adventure and fitness.”

The first leg of the three-part Fearless Challenge dubbed as “No Surrender” kicks off this August 26 at the La Mesa Nature Reserve with a 5k and 10k category.

The five-kilometer run will feature three obstacle courses while the 10k has five courses built to test one’s strength, speed and stamina.

“The 5k is a fun challenge, it’s actually for newbies.”

Saret, who designed the challenge course, gave a glimpse of what to expect.

“Fire obstacle, there’s going to be mud, water, a military wall but again do not be scared. It’s going to be safe, there’s also a crawling part,” he excitedly said.

People aged 25 and above can join the event. Interested participants may register online via www.withoutlimits.ph.

The second leg entitled “No Excuses” will be on September 15 at the Quezon City Memorial Circle before concluding on October 6 for the final part of the trilogy called “No Turning Back” at Nuvali in Laguna.

“It’s not only for runners, it’s for everyone. It’s called Fearless Challenge because we want to let people know that they don’t have to fear aging,” Saret said.

“We did not create it to race. Complete rather than compete. As long as you finish, there’s a feeling of accomplishment,” he added.

The first two legs will only have 500 slots each while the last part will accommodate 1,000 participants.

“I don’t care what age you are, everyone can have fun,” Saret said.
