MANILA, Philippines–PLDT climbed to a solo lead in the PVL All-Filipino Conference with a 25-17, 25-20, 25-17 victory over Capital1 on Tuesday at PhilSports Arena.
As the High Speed Hitters cruised to a third straight win, Savi Davison continued to show that she is back for her club team after finishing with 17 points while Erika Santos and Fiola Ceballos contributed 11 points apiece.
“Happy na yung pinag-usapan na nangyari lahat, na-execute lahat so pag ganun naman regardless ng result happy kami kasi nagawa namin yung trabaho namin. So, bonus na lang na nag-straight sets,” coach Rald Ricafort said.

“This game I definitely had some areas I had to work on but it just shows me that obviously I’m not 100 yet so it’s just [keep on learning lessons that I can keep moving forward],” Davison said.
Ceballos was also active on defense with 16 excellent digs while captain Kath Arado did her part with 14 excellent digs. Ange Alcantara tossed in 11 excellent sets.
“Nakaka-proud [yung] team kasi may goal kasi kami talaga as a team so kahit papaano maganda kasi talaga yung preparation namin and siyempre tulong na din yung mga coaches nags-scout sila then ina-apply naman namin sa training so talagang hindi na bago samin yung galaw namin, kailangan na lang talaga namin sundin yung plano,” Arado said.
The Solar Spikers kept fighting despite being in a 20-10 hole in the third frame and still scored seven points before PLDT was able to finish the match.

Back-to-back attack errors by Capital1’s Leila Cruz and Sydney Niegos pushed the High Speed Hitters to a 23-15 lead.
Heather Guino-o was the only Solar Spiker in double-digits with 10 points to add to 10 excellent receptions as Capital 1 lost a third consecutive time in as many games.
The Solar Spikers’ quest for a first win continues on Saturday against Nxled, which is battling Chery Tiggo as of posting time.
PLDT guns for a fourth straight win against the Crossovers next Tuesday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
