MANILA, Philippines—In a star-studded WWE 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble match, an underdog emerged victorious in the form of “Main Event” Jey Uso.

On Sunday morning (Manila time) at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Uso was the 10th entrant in the rumble and outlasted 29 other men including big names such as Roman Reigns, Seth “Freakin’” Rollins, CM Punk, Rey Mysterio and the retiring WWE legend John Cena.

Uso and Cena were the final two competitors in the match with a neck-and-neck finish. Both superstars tittered and tottered on the apron with Cena carrying Uso up for an “Attitude Adjustment” only for the latter to escape and push him out of the ring.

“There were some heavy hitters there but I was a heavy hitter too. Like John (Cena) says, ‘my time is now.’ I was screaming that the whole night,” said Uso after winning in front of 65,470 fans.

“It’s my turn and you’re all going to see.”

The 30-man match did not run out of star power with popular YouTuber and online streamer iShowSpeed appearing as a replacement in the eighth spot and Logan Paul lasting in the Top 3 as the 30th entrant of the Rumble.

Controversy was also plenty in the final stretch of the match with Rollins decimating both Punk and Reigns outside of the ring after their eliminations, seemingly planting the seeds for potential matches in the “Grandest Stage of Them All.”

Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes retained the Undisputed WWE Championship in a brutal ladder match against former friend Kevin Owens.

Owens’ longtime partner Sami Zayn appeared in the latter part of the match but didn’t involve himself in the finish that saw Rhodes put his opponent through a ladder with an Alabama Slam.

A bloodied Owens was then accompanied out of the building by doctors and Zayn.

WWE Tag Team Champions Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa (DIY) retained their straps against the Motor City Machine Guns (MCMG) in a two-out-of-three falls match.

DIY avoided a collapse with help from the Street Profits to keep their titles. Gargano and Ciampa led 1-0 before MCMG forced a third fall, only to succumb to outside interferences from Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford.

A returning Charlotte Flair, on the other hand, won her second women’s Royal Rumble in a match full of surprises and returns.

“I want it all,” said Flair. “I’m coming for my title at Wrestlemania. I just haven’t decided which one.”

Flair entered at No. 27 of a match that involved the returns of Alexa Bliss, Trish Stratus and Nikki Bella.

The daughter of the “Nature Boy” Ric Flair eliminated Roxanne Perez, the second entrant of the Rumble, to ultimately win the 30-woman gauntlet.

Much like Uso, Flair has yet to decide on her Wrestlemania dance partner between Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley and WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton.
