Anvaya event draws ex-triathlon champs
MANILA, Philippines—Past champions lead the favorites vying for the crown in the 5th Anvaya Cove Invitational Triathlon on Oct. 20 and 21 at Anvaya Cove Beach and Nature Club (ACBNC) in Morong, Bataan.
Levy Ang, Geraldine Santiago and Kevin Lyndonn Eijansantos gun for a second title in the 1.2K swim-32K bike-6K run main sprint distance of the race that has drawn 120 participants.
Tournament organizers said former winners Franchesca Carpo, David Verlee, Andrea Lagman and Carina Dayondon have been invited to compete.
Article continues after this advertisement“We are proud that the Anvaya Triathlon is considered one of the best organized triathlons in the country and we hope to add on to that reputation,” said ACBNC general manager George Cadhit.
Other race categories are SuperTriKids, aquathlon, family triathlon relay, regular triathlon relay and short distance races.
Specially crafted medals and gift items from the sponsors will be given away in the race sanctioned by the Triathlon Association of the Philippines.
