MANILA, Philippines—The future of Terrafirma may be uncertain, but Terrence Romeo made sure to keep his focus on one thing–winning.

Amid the Dyip franchise’s sale to Starhorse Shipping Lines, Romeo shrugged off the distractions and pushed the squad to their first win of what could be their last PBA Philippine Cup.

“For me, we just need to focus on the moment. We’re in this moment where we’re still Terrafirma so we’ll give all we have for Terrafirma,” said Romeo after powering Terrafirma past Phoenix, 95-87, at Ninoy Aquino Stadium on Friday.

As reported by the Inquirer in February, Starhorse Shipping Lines will be taking over the franchise of Terrafirma by the end of the ongoing PBA season.

The sale still needs approval from the PBA Board of Governors.

“Of course, I was shocked by  [the news] but that’s how a player’s life goes. Even players change teams so it’s no different,” Romeo said.

He scored 17 points, a rebound and an assist in 23 minutes off the bench all being held scoreless by the Fuel Masters’ defense in the first half.

“Phoenix’s defense actually collapsed every time I had the ball, they kept on doubling so I found it hard to find my points there so I played decoy,” Romeo said.

“But in the second half, they realized that I was just passing then I got the open looks and luckily my shots went in.”
