Vicki Brick, a former member of the Philippines women’s national basketball team, passed away at the age of 43.

MANILA, Philippines — Former Philippine women’s national basketball team player Vicki Brick passed away after a long battle with ovarian cancer. She was 43.

The Filipino-American guard, who played for Maryland in the US NCAA, was a member of the Philippine team (now known as Gilas Pilipinas Women) under coach Fritz Gaston.

She part of the national team that had runner-up finish in the SEABA tournament in Phuket and won the bronze medal win in the 2007 Southeast Asian Games in Nakhon Ratchasima.

“Our family is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of a Terp alumna and friend, Vicki Brick,” Maryland Women’s Basketball wrote on Facebook. “Our hearts go out to Vicki’s family and the Brick Bodies family.”

The former Maryland captain led her team to the second round of the NCAA during her stint in the early 200s and was named to the All-ACC Academic Team.

Brick is survived by her husband  Evan Zupancic and daughter  Jordan.

In an Instagram post in 2014, Brick shared a photo with her former national teammates after a tune-up game in the Philippines.

After basketball, the former national team star took over their family business in Baltimore, the Brick Bodies Fitness.
