ROBENO Javier and Mirasol Abad will spearhead the Philippine campaign in the Subic Bay Asian Duathlon Championships on Nov. 25 at Subic Bay Freeport.
Javier and Abad will be joined by Nikko Huelgas, Robin Estevez, Carlo Pedregosa and Kim Mangrobang in the competition that has lured world-ranked duathletes from 25 countries of the Asian Triathlon Confederation.
The Triathlon Association of the Philippines expects about 600 duathletes to vie in the run-bike-run event presented by Century Tuna.
The race will take place in the Freeport area with a 10 kilometer run-40 km bike-5 km run standard distance course for elite participants, Under-23 and age-group competitors. A sprint distance course of 5K run-20K bike-2.5K run will be set for Junior Elite and Youth bidders.
The Subic event will serve as the qualifier for the 2013 World Duathlon Championships.
Also backing the event sponsored by SBMA are Philippine Sports Commission, Fitness First, Asian Centre for Insulation Philippines and Gatorade. Cedelf P. Tupas
