THE PHILIPPINE National Shooting Association-Bench Rest Aggrupation (PNSA-BR), has concluded its series of competitions on Oct. 6 and 7 during the ongoing 2012 Philippine National Open Shooting Championships at Philippine Marines Shooting Range in Fort Bonifacio.
Randy Paronda scored 745.27 points out of a maximum 750.75 to win the rimfire heavy varmint category at the expense of Louie Gonzales (740.25) and Danby Henares (739.32), respectively.
For the air rifle heavy varmint, it was also Paronda who emerged champion with a score of 738.25, followed by Enchong Formoso with 730.20 and Danby Henares with 727.18 points.
Coinciding with the National Open is the PNSA-BR’s first foray in the international scene through the 2012 WRABF postal match, where Paronda’s rimfore heavy varmint score is currently ranked third with just five member countries having to submit their respective shooters’ scores.
Paronda and his teammates, Louie Gonzales and Tony Olbes, are also ranked third in the team event.
Likewise, Paronda’s air rifle heavy varmint score puts him in 9th place.
The WRABF is the governing body of the bench rest shooting shooting from which the PNSA-BR received its affiliation last February as its newest member. The PNSA-BR also intends to take part in the 2013 WRABF World Cup set in the Czech Republic in August.
