ANTHONY Roman and Miko Erich Montano took the overall crowns while Marvin Mangulabnan and Paul Mark Doblada ruled their respective divisions in the season finale of the Philippine Underbone King Championships and the Philippine Scooter racing championships held recently in Clark, Pampanga.
Mangulabnan, who was 15 points behind in the title race, won by just 0.217 of a second over Niño Fabian in topping the 150cc Open of the underbone championships. Doblada pipped Montano by just 0.059 of a second in the 180cc Open class of the scooter races.
Mangulabnan fell 10 points short of the underbone overall title won by Roman, but nipped Fabian by two with 124 points for second place.
Roman checked in just third in the final leg but it was enough to land him a back-to-back Underbone King plum with 134 points.
Despite Doblada’s victory, Montano still wrapped up the season with a title double, clinching the overall plum in the scooter championships over teammates Arlan de la Cruz and Ivan Santiago and the 160cc Open crown over Marvin Marquez and James Barcial.
