SAN BEDA picked up a rash of victories as the 30th Seaoil-Metro Manila Basketball League got going in three different venues over the weekend.
More than 20 games kicked off the tournament where the top teams will fight for slots in the the Seaoil-NBTC Junior National Championship.
San Beda-A, the defending Division 1 champion, blasted University of Santo Tomas, 97-53, while San Beda-B tripped National University-B, 77-73, at Ynares Sports Arena.
NU-A, though, ripped Malayan-A, 71-57, as Xavier School-A downed San Sebastian, 84-72.
Defending Division 2 champion Xavier School-B also started its bid strong with an 89-70 drubbing of SSCR-B.
Over at Philsports Arena, Chiang Kai Shek got off to contrasting starts with its Team A downing La Salle-Zobel-A, 77-72, but its Team B bowed to Far Eastern-B, 64-49.
At San Beda gym, San Beda College Alabang-A stunned defending Division 4 champion Colegio San Agustin-Biñan, 60-55; while defending Division 3 champ San Beda-C routed Southridge-A, 63-46.
