La Salle pulls even after tripping Adamson in UAAP men’s volleyball
MANILA, Philippines — La Salle forged a three-way tie in the standings after crucial 23-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-18 win over Adamson Saturday in the UAAP season 75 men’s volleyball competition at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
The victory helped the Green Spikers to pull even with Adamson and University of Santo Tomas in third place, all toting identical 6-5 records behind leaders Far Eastern University and National University (9-1).
Red Christensen, Christopher Antonio and Philip Cerveza spearheaded La Salle’s attack with 17, 16, and 14 markers, respectively.
Article continues after this advertisementThe Green Spikers got 12 points off 74 blocks attempts, which fortified them to neutralize the scoring machine Ron Jay Galang and the Falcons.
Galang, who leads Adamson with a combined 210 spikes this season, was held to 23 points after coming off a 31-point effort in the Falcons win over University of the Philippines in their previous game.
The Falcons blew a golden chance to gain a full game lead in the standings after assuming the solo third place last week.
