Arellano defeats San Beda in NCAA men’s football round of four

MANILA, Philippines—Arellano University remained the only unscathed squad in the NCAA season 88 men’s football round of four after clipping San beda, 1-0, Friday in the ASCOM field in Taguig.

Alvin Obero netted a goal in the 29th minute and it was just enough cushion for the Chiefs to defeat the reigning title holder for their second victory.

Arellano has also kept a clean sheet thus far, defeating Lyceum, 2-0, last Tuesday to get to the inside track in the race to the finals.

The Pirates, meanwhile, defeated still winless Emilio Aguinaldo College, 1-0, in the other semifinals match up.

Lyceum’s Nino Azanes stunned the Generals with a goal in the 16th minute, also keeping their bid to a finals spot alive.

Both Arellano and San Beda have one victory and one setback so far in the final four.
