MANILA, Philippines — Adamson made quick work of University of the Philippines 25-20, 25-9, 25-17 Sunday in the UAAP season 75 women’s volleyball competition at the Arena in San Juan.
Though the Lady Falcons were favored to win over the lowly Lady Maroons, coach Sherwin Meneses relished the victory entering the final four.
“This is a big win today because we can bank on this momentum as we go to the semifinals,” Meneses told INQUIRER.net after the game.
Adamson, which enters the post season with a 9-5 card, barely broke a sweat but Pau Soriano and Sheila Pineda still stood out on the attack.
Soriano drilled in 17 points including two blocks while Pineda added 15 points, seven coming from service winners.
Adamson could get a playoff for the second seed, but depending on the result of the Ateneo-UST match being played at posting time.
The Lady Maroons bowed out the tournament with a 2-12 slate with Katherine Bersola and Nicole Tiamzon finishing with eight markers apiece.
