GLOBAL and Stallion try to stretch their unbeaten streak when they tackle separate rivals today in the United Football League at Emperador Stadium in Taguig City.
Coming off its best game of the season, Global guns for its fourth straight victory against a struggling Army side in the 5:15 p.m. kickoff.
On a three-game roll to start the campaign, Stallion collides with a Kaya side still reeling from the sudden resignation of coach Maor Rozen.
Global produced a scintillating display in the 5-1 demolition of Green Archers Globe last Tuesday with Sudanese striker Izzo El-Habbib delivering a brace, increasing his total to three goals this season.
“The team is creating a lot of chances for him (El-Habbib),” said Global coach Brian Reid, who will return to the bench after missing the last two games to attend to personal commitments in Europe.
“Hopefully the goals will help him get his confidence back. If he’s fit, he’ll definitely be a big part of us.”
Army can take a lot of positives from the 1-2 loss to Stallion last Thursday. The Armed Forces side held its ground in the second half and scored a goal even after going down to 10 men.
The Armymen are looking to avoid a third straight loss.
Stallion has hardly looked troubled thus far with its attack, led by Rufo Sanchez and Ruben Doctora, clicking into high gear.
In contrast, Kaya has found difficulty creating scoring chances and has relied mainly on the brilliance of OJ Porteria.
