SHOWING tremendous battling qualities, Global needed two late goals in shutting out Air Force, 2-0, Thursday night to rise to the top anew in the United Football League at Emperador Stadium in Taguig.
Jeffrey Christiaens and Delon Yao struck late in the second half as Global kept its perfect record with a sixth victory to leapfrog past Stallion Sta. Lucia on goal difference.
“We showed great attitude, never-say-die spirit,” said Global coach Brian Reid.
It was a tough warm-up for Global, which clashes with Stallion on Tuesday in a match that could have major repercussions in the title race. The Airmen remained winless in six matches.
