Big Chill quint freezes Boracay Rum

A WEEK after a stinging defeat, Big Chill came back strong by dumping Boracay Rum, 82-60, yesterday at Filoil Flying V Arena to grab a share of second spot in the PBA
D-League Foundation Cup.

The Superchargers banked on a huge first quarter where they took a 22-6 lead and stayed out of reach the rest of the way to nail their second triumph in three games.

Janus Lozada knocked in 18 points, 12 coming from three-point range, to lead the Superchargers’ recovery from an upset loss to newcomer Hog’s Breath Cafe, 63-69.

Café France joined the Superchargers at 2-1 following a 92-69 dismantling of Jumbo Plastics, while Cagayan Valley also cruised to a 98-56 rout of winless Informatics for its first victory in two outings.

James Forrester fired 17 points and Chris Exciminiano shot 14 as the Rising Suns also built a 22-12, right in the first quarter.

Mike Silungan unloaded 18 points to lead six Café France players who wound up in double figures.

The Superchargers credited their fine form to the return of top guard Terrence Romeo, who shot 15 points after getting sidelined for a month due to a hand injury.
