Viloria loses flyweight belts to Estrada via split decision

MANILA, Philippines — Filipino bet Brian Viloria lost his WBO and WBA belt to Mexican challenger Juan Francisco Estrada via split decision Saturday night at the Cotai Arena of The Venetian Resort and Casino in Macau.

Estrada snapped Viloria’s six game winning streak after getting the nod of the majority of the judges 116-111 and 117-111 while the other saw Viloria winning, 115-113.

The 22-year-old Estrada (23-2, 17KOs) took control late and in the last couple of rounds was able to connect with a flurry of punches that wobbled Viloria (32-3, 19KOs).
