Jeson Patrombon, far from his best form due to the flu, found a dependable partner in Sergey Shipilov as they reached the boys’ doubles quarterfinals of the Yonex LTAT-ITF juniors tennis tournament Wednesday in Nonthaburi, Thailand.
The second seed partnership of Patrombon and Shipilov bested Nattan Benjasupawan and Warit Sornbutnark, 6-3, 4-6, (10-7), to advance against Russians Evgeny Karlovsky and Mikhail Vaks.
Coach Manny Tecson said Patrombon recovered well after a long rest following his exit in the singles of the Grade 2 event Tuesday.
