Ateneo, La Salle outclass Filoil tourney foes

RELENTLESS on both ends of the floor, Ateneo streaked to a third straight win by outclassing Lyceum, 84-64, last night even as La Salle also made it three-in-a-row in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup.

Playing their last game before leaving for training camp in the United States, the Eagles led all the way in posting their sixth win in seven games at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

The Archers overwhelmed the San Sebastian Stags, 90-74, to hike their record to 3-1 even as Letran barged into the win column at the expense of Southwestern U, 78-68.

Kiefer Ravena tallied 21 points while Nico Elorde chipped in 17 for the Eagles, who lost Von Pessumal  early in the second quarter due to an index finger injury.

“It’s always nice to see the boys putting the effort and working on the little things,” said Ateneo assistant coach Gabby Severino, who called the shots in the place of Bo Perasol.
