Spotlight on Stockinger, Lotus F1 today

THE SPOTLIGHT will be on Fil-Swiss driver Marlon Stockinger tonight and the Lotus Formula One Team at the Gala night at Manila Hotel which ushers the start of the Manila Speed Show.

Stockinger will be at the helm of the F1 car this weekend when it rolls through the roads surrounding the Quirino Grandstand and the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Among those expected to attend the affair kicking off the grand event are Lotus F1 Team principal Eric Boullier, along with officials of Manila and Pasay City and representatives of the Department of Tourism, Department of Trade and Industry, Globe Telecom Inc., and Thomas Stockinger, president of the organizing Peregrine Falcon Corp.

Stockinger has made great strides in his career the past few years with his inclusion in the Lotus F1 Junior Team among his latest achievement.

With the distinction, the 21-year-old Stockinger was given the honor of showcasing the Lotus F1 car in front of his countrymen.

“The Manila Speed Show will showcase some of the F1 cars never before seen on Philippine soil, with the end in view of enhancing Filipino interest and appreciation of F1 international car racing and rally support behind Marlon Stockinger,” the show’s organizer said in a statement.

President Aquino has been invited to grace the speed show.
