MANILA—San Sebastian seeks to sustain its drive for a postseason berth in the 87th NCAA men’s basketball tournament when it tangles with dangerous Arellano at the FilOil-Flying V Arena in San Juan.

Gametime is 2 p.m. with the Stags looking for an 11th consecutive victory against an Arellano squad slowly picking up its game in the second round.

Letran battles Jose Rizal U at 4 p.m. with the Knights eyeing a ninth win that will put them half a game behind San Beda at second.

Running third with an 8-2 record, the Knights can create a firmer buffer with fourth-running Lyceum with a repeat of their first-round conquest of the Bombers. The Knights routed the Bombers, 70-59, last Aug. 28.

Kevin Alas is expected to be back to 100 percent after a bout with the flu in the 73-59 win over Arellano last week where he still scored 19 points.

The Stags are coming off their most lopsided win of the season—a 99-63 rout of Emilio Aguinaldo College—and will be heavily favored to repeat against the Chiefs, whom they trounced, 92-79, in their first-round meeting.

Stopping Calvin Abueva, Ian Sangalang and Ronald Pascual will be foremost in the Chiefs’ gameplan.

Abueva fired a season-best 34 points while Sangalang grabbed 25 boards, the most in four seasons, in the game against the Generals.
