Power Pinays rip Singapore to enter quarters in Asian volley tilt

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines’ PLDT Home Tvolution whipped Singapore’s Vas, 25-8, 25-19, 25-9, to clinch the last quarterfinals berth in Pool B in the 2014 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship Monday in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand.
The Power Pinays, who also arrested a three-game skid, wound up with a 2-3 record, losing to China’s Tianjin Bohai Bank, Taipei City and most recently to Kazakhstan’s Zhetyssu Almaty all in straight sets.
The Power Pinays, whose other win came at the expense of KSEB India in their opening game, will face the top-seeded team in Pool A in the quarters, which starts Tuesday.
