‘Mario’ puts off NC cage, tablenet tiffs
THE MANAGEMENT committee of the 90th NCAA season called off the basketball and table tennis games scheduled yesterday due to floodings in Metro Manila brought by Typhoon “Mario.”
“All NCAA events (basketball and table tennis) were canceled based on the announcement of no-classes in all levels in Metro Manila due to heavy rains and flooding,” said committee chair Paul Supan of host Jose Rizal University.
The Jose Rizal Heavy Bombers were supposed to take on the San Sebastian Stags at 4 p.m. with the St. Benilde Blazers battling the Letran Knights in the first game at 2 p.m. at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
Supan said the postponed junior and senior basketball games as well as the table tennis matches will be rescheduled to a later date. June Navarro
