PLDT Home Telpad tries to keep its slim hopes for a finals berth alive when it tangles with unbeaten Army today in the Shakey’s V-League Season 11 Third Conference at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

The Turbo Boosters face the daunting task of pinning a first defeat on the Lady Troopers in the 6 p.m. duel to stay in the running for the second berth in the finals.

Systema faces Rizal Technological U in the men’s division at 4 p.m.

RTU bowed to Far Eastern U last Sunday and crashed out of the title race with a 1-4 card.

A straight-sets loss to Cagayan Valley put a dent on PLDT’s title bid but a win over Army could keep the Turbo Boosters in the running. Still, they would need a loss by the Rising Suns in their last game against Meralco to forge a playoff for the last finals berth.

After so-so performances last Sunday, Suzanne Roces and Lou Ann Latigay are looking to bounce back against the league’s only unbeaten team. Army has the psychological edge, having beaten PLDT in four sets, 29-31, 25-19, 25-16, 25-18, in their first-round duel last Oct. 16.
Army clinched the first finals berth last week with a sweep of its  five games. And the odds will still be in its favor with its experienced roster led by former MVPs MJ Balse, Nene Bautista and Rachel Anne Daquis as well as setter Tina Salak.
