Kawasaki cagers scuttle PNP
KAWASAKI-MARIKINA broke into the win column after scoring a masterful 88-63 victory over Philippine National Police Thursday night in the 4th DELeague Invitational Basketball Tournament at Marikina Sports Center’s basketball gymnasium.
Ronald Roy topscored for with 20 points for Kawasaki-Marikina which also drew 14 from Francis Munsayac 12 each from Kojack Melegrito and James Abugan.
PNP’s Dennis Escalon led his team with 17 points and Rey Gonzales added 14.
Article continues after this advertisementIn the other game, Cars Unlimited routed winless MBL Selection, 83-66, to also barge into the win column of the tournament supported by Marikina Mayor Del de Guzman and sponsored by PCA Marivalley, St. Anthony Hospital, PS Bank Blue Wave Marquinton Branch, Luyong Restaurant Concepcion, Mckie’s Equipment Sales and Rental, and Tutor 911.
Alvin Vitug scattered 16 points and Penso Guradera added 15 points and 8 rebounds for Cars Unlimited.
Dencio de Guzman paced the MBL Selection of Marist School with 20 points. Edward Olatun contributed 18 rebounds.
